Another beautiful, sunny day in London Town! Balmy temperature too!
The vacation is winding down, we're running out of energy, but we still have to visit Hyde Park. So, in our best vacation style, we started out with a cappucino at the entrance to the park! I know the caffeine kept ME going. Sitting on the bench we contemplate the Prince Albert Memorial rising high above us.
Setting off to cover the park, we stroll along the wide paths taking in the Spring flowers and vistas. The joggers are out and we speculate that the park is probably a runners dream. We come across the Pricess Diana Fountain, which really isn't a fountain at all. It's more like a large serpentine brook with water bubbling up at the top and flowing down either side into a broader shallow pool at the bottom.
A restaurant with a large patio overlooking the lake appeared before us. An al fresco lunch was in order! As we found with most food in London, it was quite good, noticeably fresh and similar in price to what we'd pay in the U.S.
After lunch, we continued our journey (it's a very large park). Strolling along past broad meadows, through tree-lined paths and across horse trails was very relaxing. It enabled us to contemplate what this vacation has brought.....appreciation for another culture, knowledge we didn't previously have, new experiences and new friends. Oh! And very tired legs!
